BAREFOOT BOWLS
Barefoot bowls sessions for the general public and any
interested groups. These sessions are particularly
appealing to social or family groups who want to have fun with a cheap day out on the bowling green.

The Eltham Recreation Bowling Club has many open days during the season for new bowlers. Anyone interested in
taking up bowling may come along for some free introductory coaching lessons and a bit of fun bowling.

New Club Champion

We have a new Club Champion for 2009-2010. In a very tense and hard fought game Hugh Robertson managed to beat a fellow division 2 skip in Lee Williams for the coveted title. Hugh is in his second year at Eltham after transferring from Hurstbridge BC where he was also a past club champion.

Division 2 and 4 sides finish top in their respective Sections!

Congratulations to both the numbers 1 and 2 sides which finished top of the ladder and earned a first up home finals game against the 4th sides. A great result for the number 1 side, given that it was their first season back in Division 2, and missing three good regular players from the Division 3 winning side. The Division 7 (4th) side also finished with a finals berth after a good season, ending in 3rd spot.

An "8"!!

The Division 2 team of Lee Williams, Steve Williams, Frank Camera, and John Baker achieved a rather rare feat on the last Pennant day - an 8. Yes, they do happen occasionally, but not very often in Division two against a side in sixth place at the end of the season.

VLBA Extra

Congratulations to the B2 side which finished one game clear on top of the ladder and will now play Keysborough in the Post Sectional Playoffs. The A1 side managed to win their last game well and finish in 8th spot. This would normally have kept them in the A1 division, but next season will see the Tuesday Pennant change to a Division 1 to 5 setup, similar to the Saturday Pennant system. The B1 side finished in a credible 7th place after a rather shaky start to the season. Well done to all the players involved in all three sections.
