2024/25 Positions the Board Would Love to Fill

If these four positions can be filled it would be very beneficial for the Club.

The four positions are;

(1) Barefoot Bowls Coordinator: The Barefoot Bowls Coordinator manages Barefoot Bowls Events/Bookings and organises members to help with the bowling side of the event. The Bar Committee manages the Bar side of these events. 

Notes: Barefoot Bowls events raise important funds for the Club.

: Members in other positions (Bar Committee Convenor, Hall Hire Coordinator, Club House Manager) are currently managing Barefoot Bowls events and that is not equitable.

: There are a number of members who have indicated they are prepared to help with the bowling side of the event.

: As the weather warms up and daylight saving starts there is an increase in the number of Barefoot Bowls Events so the Club needs a Coordinator to manage them.

(2) Bar Committee Member: The Bar is a major source of funds for the Club. Again the warmer weather means there are more events that Bar Committee needs to cover. Another Bar Committee member to assist at these events would be most beneficial. Please speak to Bar Committee Convenor, Rick Allen, if you have any questions and/or are prepared to fill this vacancy.

(3) Facilities Sub Committee Works Director: The Works Director is a member of the Facilities Sub Committee. As the name suggests the Work Director oversees any work that needs to be completed around the Club. The Works Director would organise Working Bees to complete maintenance work and/or would organise a tradesperson to complete the work. 

(4) Assistant Secretary: The Assistant Secretary is a position on the Eltham Bowling Club Board. The Assistant Secretary assists the Secretary with tasks that are agreed to by both members. The Assistant Secretary takes the minutes of a Board meeting if the Secretary is absent. There is no expectation that the Assistant Secretary becomes the Secretary in future years.

These four positions are casual vacancies so they are filled by the Board from members who indicate a willingness to fill a vacancy.

If you are prepared to fill one of these four positions, please speak to Rick or the Bar Committee Member position and either Tom or Leon for the other three positions. Please do so by Friday 11.10.24.
