GETTING BACK ON THE GREEN
NOW ONLY AVAILABLE ON SUNDAY, MONDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY DUE TO THE START OF PENNANT AND WEDNESDAY SOCIAL BOWLS
A MESAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hi all,
The day has finally arrived we are back to using the club for a game of bowls. Council has given approval for us to start using our greens for practice. Club rooms are to remain closed for now.
As before we must follow all guidelines as set out by governing bodies to remain compliant and avoid both personal fines and the club being fined or shut down. There are a number of new signs around the club to assist us all in understanding the rules. Please make sure you read them and follow their direction.
You will require a booking for practice like last time but will notice that there are a couple of extra requirements on arrival at the club.
Compliance requirements include the following:
- Only twenty people permitted to be at the club at one time, ten per green for practice.
- There is a log book located on a table near the entrance to the club house which you are required to sign and record both your arrival and departure time.
- Masks must be worn at all times except when delivering the bowl.
- Social distancing at all times.
- Sanitizing of hands on arrival and before you leave.
- Mats and jacks to be sprayed with disinfectant.
Bookings can be made by ringing me on my mobile at which time you will be allocated a rink.
There can be up to 4 players per rink. Sessions will be for up to 2hrs as follows:
9.00-11.00. 11.30-1.30. 2.00-4.00. 4.30-6.30.
It would be appreciate if you leave as quickly as possible at the end of your allocated time to avoid any crossover with the next session.
Hopefully these restrictions will only be for a short time. Council have stated that they will be doing spot checks. The seats and drinking spout on the water fountain have been taped as they are out of bounds and are not to be used.
Please, if you are unwell , do not attend the club. Its really important you go and get tested.
At this stage pennant will be commencing as follow: Saturday the 28th of November, Tuesday the 1st December.
The new competition of ‘7 a side’ will start first on Thursday the 26th of November.
We have organised a practice match on the 21st of November against Hurstbridge. More details to follow.
I know you’re all looking forward to getting out on the green so please don’t hesitate to ring and book a rink.
See you soon.
